The hull of the CS/VN3 is of all-welded steel armour construction that provides protection against firing of small arms and shell splinters. The front of the vehicle is fitted with two small bulletproof windows. There is one single door on each side of the hull with one small bulletproof in the upper part. Each side of the crew compartment are fitted with two small bulletproof window and one firing port in the lower part. There is a large door in the rear of the hull that opens to the right and has a bulletproof window and a firing port. It can carry a total of 10 people including driver, commander and gunner. MobilityThe CS/VN3 is motorized with a water-cooled turbocharged diesel engine developing 155 kW at 2,500 rpm coupled to a transmission with 5 forward and 1 reverse gears. It can run at a maximum road speed of 100 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 600 km. A exhaust pipe is mounted on the right side of the hull. The CS/VN3 can climb 60% gradient and a vertical obstacle of 0.35m.
